Simmy Akhtar

Simmy joined RLSS UK from Air Ambulances UK, where as Chief Executive she successfully led a collaborative team to deliver the organisational strategy and significantly increase its income. Simmy brings a wealth of experience from previous roles, including as a solicitor in the private legal sector, positions in the NHS and Local Authority environments, and trustee roles, together with her current role as a Non-Executive Director at Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust where she is also Chair of the Quality and Safety Committee.

She brings diverse experience from a variety of sectors and has over 15 years of experience in leadership roles, including at board level. Simmy is also experienced in motivational leadership, governance, digital, stakeholder engagement and influencing, equity, diversity, and inclusion as well as business development. As reflected in her roles, Simmy is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of many.
