Simmy Akhtar

Simmy joined Air Ambulances UK in March 2021 as the charity's first CEO and brings diverse experience from the private legal, public, and not-for-profit sectors. Simmy has over 15 years' experience in leadership roles including at Board level as a Non-Executive Director at Midlands Partnership University Foundation Trust and as a Trustee at Support Staffordshire.  Simmy is also experienced in motivational leadership, strategy, governance, digital, stakeholder engagement and influencing, equity, diversity, and inclusion as well as business development. As reflected in her roles, Simmy is passionate about improving people outcomes and ultimately saving more lives.  Simmy is excited to be joining the Royal Life Saving Society UK in 2025.
