Working together to support children, young people and families during the cost-of-living crisis

Barnardo’s and Arun Estates worked in partnership to address the effects the cost-of-living crisis has had on vulnerable children, young people and families across South-East England.

Between September – November 2022 Arun Estates, Cubitt & West, Douglas Allen, Wards and Pittis raised an incredible £1million for Barnardo’s to help address child poverty in the South-East England, by donating £100 for every new property valuation the completed in their local areas. Across 2023, we worked in partnership with Arun Estates and local charities to distribute essential items to support to 16,921 children, young people and families across the South-East (Essex, Hampshire and Isle of Wight, Kent, Surrey & Sussex, South and East London) who needed our help the most. This support included: - Distributing essential items such as providing food and fuel vouchers so that families didn’t have to choose between eating and heating, - Responding to urgent emerging needs such as mental health and wellbeing support, - Providing trips/opportunities for those who would not otherwise of had the chance. Together, we provided essential items and support for children, young people and families at a time when they needed us the most.
