The Big Sky Cares Wrapathon on Tuesday 10th December 2024 saw 2,050 Sky employees and charity partners across 11 of the company's sites (including sites in London, Ireland, Italy and Germany) wrapping gifts to be donated to charity for the festive season. At the same time, Sky attempted to set a new world record for the most people wrapping presents simultaneously (multiple venues).

The gifts - consisting of toys, books, puzzles, biscuits, toiletries and more – were donated to over 20 charities, including The King's Trust, The NSPCC and Multibank as well as smaller grassroot charities including Solidarity Sports, the LGBTQ+ Community Centre and Evelina Children’s Hospital.

The challenge was part of Sky's longstanding volunteering programme, Sky Cares, which directly supports local communities.

With colleagues across Sky and our charity partners coming together to give back in one impactful moment, the record was successfully set and as a result, Sky donated more than 3,000 gifts to the charities. The event helped us make a difference and offer a small act of kindness for those less fortunate over the festive season.
