Richard Marriner has played a part in the partnership between Young Lives vs Cancer and JD Wetherspoon for the full 20 years it has been running. A dedicated and passionate advocate for fundraising, vital to embedding a culture of fundraising within the organisation.

He has raised significant sums for Young Lives vs Cancer, conceiving of the now annual Darts Tournament which started as a small competition in the South East and is now a national event, engaging colleagues across the organisation and this event alone has raised in excess of £1,000,000 to date.

Key to Richard’s success is his ability to embed fundraising within the day to day business of running pubs, he uses his knowledge of his teams and experience in the business to drive fundraising that engages employees, improves morale, and positively impacts on the business too.
