Pedal for Pounds

In November 2021, colleagues at Jewson, UK's leading chain of builders’ merchants, came together to take part in Jewson’s challenge event- Pedal for Pounds to raise essential funds for their two charity partners Barnardo’s and Band of Builders and help the most vulnerable in the communities.

Pedal for Pounds which took place on 16th November 2021 saw colleagues from Jewson’s branches across UK jumping on a bike at one of their sites in a battle to see who could travel the furthest whilst raising valuable funds for Jewson’s two charity partners, Barnardo’s and Band of Builders.

The event brought together 54 teams across the country from all areas of business covering 8,845 kilometres in total and raised a magnificent £117,000 which was split equally between Barnardo’s and Band of Builders, all in a span of 6 weeks.

The money raised will enable Barnardo’s to fund and support the two of Barnardo’s strategic projects- Gap Homes and Barnardo’s YouthBuild Academy and will also help Band of Builders to help more members of the construction industry who face life changing or limiting circumstances.
