LNER and CALM celebrate five lifesaving years of partnership with the “You Belong’’ train and News Against Living Miserably newsstand

London North Eastern Railway (LNER)

Client: CALM

While World Mental Health Day 2018 marked the beginning of LNER and CALM’s incredible, multifaceted partnership, World Mental Health Day 2023 marked their five-year anniversary. And what a five years it’s been.

LNER have raised over £550,000 (enough to answer over 68,750 potentially life-saving calls on CALM’s helpline) through their incredible Delay Repay scheme and innovative employee fundraising initiatives, and have also been pivotal in expanding CALM’s reach nationwide, ensuring customers are signposted to CALM’s lifesaving services. LNER and CALM attend Prides together, handing out life-saving information, and LNER colleagues have been trained as CALM Champions to spread CALM’s message internally.

2023 saw them go one step further. Celebrating the partnership’s five year anniversary, and raising awareness on their route of the brilliant work CALM does, LNER gave CALM the ultimate honour by dedicating an entire train to them. A bespoke LNER Azuma called ‘You Belong’ was launched, alongside the unveiling of a News Against Living Miserably newsstand in Newcastle Central Station, with LNER also matching donations from Delay Repay.
