Evolve Project

UBS, Linklaters, Societe Generale, Societe Generale UK Foundation

Client: East London Business Alliance (ELBA)

Four years ago, the Evolve Project began as a collaborative partnership between Linklaters LLP, UBS, Societe Generale and the Societe Generale UK Foundation, all working directly with their charity partner East London Business Alliance (ELBA). This remarkable collaboration has involved over 650 employee volunteers who have contributed over 3,800 hours to enhance the capabilities of more than 300 charities throughout East London.

The Evolve consortium aims to increase the capacity and collaboration of community organisations across key east London boroughs particularly in response to the effects of COVID-19 and the cost of living crisis. ELBA has evaluated Evolve workshops and programmes using the B4SI framework to measure the social impacts on charitable organisations, noting significant advancements in their operational and leadership skills development.

As well as the significant impact on community organisations, their beneficiaries and the wider community in which they reside, the consortium partners have benefited through sharing best practices across organisations and developing employee volunteer skills. Through carefully curated programmes and activities, Evolve has enhanced both business competence and a better understanding of the local community. The Evolve Project has created meaningful and rewarding personal experiences which have led to positive impacts for volunteers and beneficiaries alike.
