Client: FoodCycle
Danone and FoodCycle formed a 3-year strategic partnership in 2023 to enable more people and communities across the UK to access healthy, nutritious meals and to promote sustainable, healthy attitudes towards food. Danone’s funding has provided vital support for FoodCycle’s current operations, as it now serves over 3,600 meals per week, as well as enabling the organisation to expand its services and reach its strategic aim in 2024 of providing its community meals in 100 locations. As the cost-of-living crisis has endured, plunging more people into poverty, the partnership has provided crucial support to those experiencing food poverty and social isolation. Danone’s employees have volunteered at FoodCycle meals across the country, and the company’s Nutrition team provided their expertise to develop new nutrition resources to increase FoodCycle volunteers’ and guests’ knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating. The partnership is having a tangible impact on the lives of FoodCycle’s guests - 70% of FoodCycle guests reported positively changing their eating habits since attending the community meals, and 71 % of FoodCycle guests said they have tried or bought fruit or vegetables that they wouldn’t normally eat thanks to attending FoodCycle’s meals.
