Coventry Building Society Community Team

Client: Centrepoint and 17 Coventry-based schools and charity partners

Our Community Team has 8 dedicated colleagues with between them, over 120 years of experience with the Society. They are a tightly knit team, all passionate about making a tangible difference to some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable communities.

In line with our purpose - making people better off through life – the team supports people through all life stages, working with our national partner, Centrepoint, and at a local level with nine partner schools and eight core charity partners.

Working with colleagues across the business, they focus on three themes: 

 • Better Futures – driving social mobility by building children’s aspirations and helping them to achieve the skills they need to build better careers. 

• Better Foundations – building financial resilience to help people keep a roof over their head and food on the table. 

• Better Connections – tackling isolation and loneliness, particularly among older people.

By driving colleague engagement, fostering deep relationships with charity partners, and being able to demonstrate impact, the programme has grown significantly in the past three years, and in 2024, the team achieved £4.5m of community investment and over 12,000 hours of volunteering, all of which benefitted over 21,000 people.
