Client: Survivors UK
Our partnership is borne out of a common goal – to ensure boys, men, and non-binary people in the UK receive support to navigate the impact of sexual violence. BBK is one of the pre-eminent abuse practices in the county and deeply understands the challenges facing SurvivorsUK – particularly around supporting these individuals and creating an environment where survivors can open up and take steps towards healing. We work together in numerous ways including funding the salary and employer costs of an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor, based in London, who directly supports abuse survivors; offering use of BBK’s centrally located office space whenever needed – for clinics, staff meetings or facilitating connections with other charities; lending its legal expertise to advise members directly, through a legal clinic, and to the SurvivorsUK team through a legal hotline. BBK help SurvivorsUK celebrate their positive work and impact, and host opportunities for their team to socialise and recognise their achievements. SurvivorsUK is a relatively small charity and the partnership with BBK has directly impacted survivors’ lives positively – for example, the ISVA funded by BBK has supported 45 survivors of sexual abuse in the last year.
