A New Nest for the Stork

Overbury

Client: Stripey Stork

A New Nest for the Stork represents a key moment in Stripey Stork’s 11-year history. As one of the largest baby banks in the UK, supporting families across Surrey and Croydon, the opportunity to expand into a neighbouring warehouse was vital to meeting increasing demand. However, transforming the space into a functional, inclusive space required significant upgrades.

Enter Overbury, who not only took on the project but completed it pro bono in just six weeks. Their team, led by an onsite project manager, provided hands-on support which saved the charity valuable time during their busiest period. They could focus on core services without disruption and deliver the annual Christmas project which provided gifts to 4,000 children.

The renovations included insulated roofing, a heating system, refurbished offices, a kitchen, and new WCs (including an accessible WC), alongside custom workbenches and cot storage. Overbury’s team listened to volunteers, observing their workflow to create a space tailored to their needs, enhancing their experience and making them feel valued.

Stripey Stork are now ready to scale operations, to have the capacity to help 20,000 families annually by 2026. A great example of corporate social responsibility and it sets the stage for 2025 and beyond.
